Review on 💯 Ultimate Kohler 1131482 Ultraglide Complete Assembly: Unbeatable Quality and Performance by Andrew Britton

Replaced the old GP77006-RP(C) cold water cartridge with a Forte sink kit. I am very grateful to the posters for pointing out that the Kohler 59425 wrench is required if you are replacing any of the older model cartridges, which saved me a few days of shipping to complete this repair. The exchange went well and required few corrections during work. The first was the shield, as mentioned above. This was easy to change thanks to the Revain reviews BUT on the Forte the old base that the grip screws into has a decorative element that is now missing. The old handle was connected to a nut of the same color and gradually decreased in radius from the handle to the post. The fixed handle is lower than the hot water handle and slightly shorter. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who will ever notice this, so it's more of a warning. I can't find this part online. Also, as mentioned, it's a lot louder than the original, up until about halfway down the press and then quieter. During installation I noticed that the exhaust pipe was already original, so I had to replace it. This isn't a problem as a hose is provided, but my theory is that this narrower opening causes the water noise to be much larger. Overall I'm happy with my purchase but based on the above I don't think this is a very good replacement part.
