I have a '79 Corvette that I am restoring, the engine is out of stock. I suddenly felt a loss of power while driving, so I drove home and started looking for the problem. I had a dead cylinder. I had good spark and the spark plug was fine so I removed the valve cover. When I bought the car it had Pro-Form roller swingarms and that was the problem: the intake swingarm on the dead cylinder was broken. I decided to take the heads out and do the valve work just to make sure everything was fine on the top end. The valve guides were worn, maybe it had something to do with the broken rocker arm, to be honest with the Pro-Form. I ordered a set of these and they are much better quality and meatier. I installed it and followed comp's instructions to set it up and had no problems and my Vette was a beast again.
