Not bad for the price

I'm not a newbie to 3D printers and certainly not an expert but here is my opinion. The general build quality is very good. It has a nice solid frame and the front-mounted LCD panel cuts down on the cables, which I'm used to, but still some of it gets looped around during the printing process. The instructions were a bit confusing as some assembly steps were already done at the factory (good thing), but confusing nonetheless. Bed. I discovered this the hard way, and there are no warnings in the instructions on how to avoid it. A simple line like "mounting bracket 1/8" above bottom frame" would be fine, or words for that effect. The SD card came in a broken bracket/sleeve that someone taped sealed at the factory. Is it too cheap to give me one that isn't broken?I think so, if you watch some YouTube videos of unboxing and assembling this printer, there are many differences that will become apparent once you've assembled it.but nothing to worry about. Really HATE the plate build platform. If like me you print relatively thin prints (like 3mm or so) there is no way to remove them. Even the "pattern" recipe mentioned on the SD chip was destroyed when I tried to remove it with Vice Grips! Although the printed surface can be removed from the aluminum base and bent, my prints stayed in place. I ended up ruining my attempts to remove prints in one piece, so I ordered a standard stock to build the panel. The user manual is on the SD chip (although some YouTube videos show copies that came with the device (I don't have it) as a PDF file along with an old version of Cura (the slicing program you use for the need to create files) recipes printers can make) which is probably best left alone. Download the latest version which is free. Again, there are dozens of videos on YouTube that explain how this slicer works and what settings you can use to improve your prints.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
