First let me point out some negative comments in other reviews: 1. The flow rate is adjustable - the water inlet on the pump side has a sliding cover which can be adjustable from fully open to fully closed and in any intermediate position.2. The pump is very quiet - my pump is installed in an outside wall well and it is very quiet. Only the sound of splashing water can be heard.3. The supplied hose does not kink - the hose is 4ft long and of course comes packaged in a small box. Before installation, simply lay the hose in the sun for a few hours and the kinks will disappear as the heat softens the hose. This is actually a better quality hose than my fountain's original hose. So this pump is exactly what you need, and it's a steal. If you read negative comments in reviews, please pay attention to the source. Some people are unable to do DIY projects.
