I bought this set to go from stovetop to oven with confidence. My other mismatched pieces have handles and lids that don't go in the oven. My daughter's boyfriend is the chef in her family and he loves cast iron, which can easily convert a stovetop into an oven (and even a fire). The only thing I wish this kit had was a pair of clear glass lids. Why? Because some of my cheap pans have them and I'm used to seeing my food cooked on the stovetop without removing the lid. Well, these lids obviously don't work in the oven, but at this price point, adding some clear lids would still be a good choice - at least in my opinion. Now I'm getting rid of some of my scratched cheap frying pans and leaving their clear lids so I can 'have my cake and eat it' so to speak, but if I didn't have those old ones I'm just saying it could be a good option for manufacturers. What I received I am very happy with them. I installed a makeshift summer kitchen - I don't have the money to build one but I do have a charcoal grill. I also have a round stone pizza deck so I can grill pizza but I also have a dual induction hob on the table which is one of the reasons I love this set. I prefer induction as not only is it economical and economical, but it's also a great way to cool a room when it's hot outside as induction doesn't stay hot for long like a regular stove. This set of pots and pans goes great with my induction hob and that's another reason I love it. Stainless steel is also easy to clean. A great honeymoon set or housewarming gift for everyone.
