Review on Precision In Lab Work: Heavy Duty, 4.75-Inch General Purpose Forceps With Medium-Curved Tips From Scientific Labwares by Cody Bowie

Poor quality - my new review

I purchased these primarily because it was the only inexpensive tweezers that had a guide pin to keep the tips aligned. Too bad the guide hole could not slide onto the pin. It was easy to see at 5X magnification that the pin was slightly bent just enough to prevent proper engagement. I used the backside of a locked pocket knife blade to tap the pin and was successful in regaining alignment to make the tweezers usable. How hard is it to keep a pin and alignment hole in the prophet position? Come on, this isn't some highly complex piece of equipment. I cannot recommend these tweezers because of poor quality control.

Pros
  • Excellent tool. Works great to hold jewelry parts while soldering.
Cons
  • The price point for these forceps may be higher than other similar alternatives on the market, making them less cost-effective for laboratories on a budget
