For the last three years I have cycled to work in all weathers. Every day I drive about 25 miles round trip. I ride a Specialized Roubaix with 28mm tires. I love the look of my bike and didn't want to ruin it with fenders, but then I saw someone riding these SKS RaceBlade Pro XL fenders and I thought they looked good. After hearing this guy talk about how great it is to have wings, I decided to try them out this winter. I did a little research and decided to try the SKS RaceBlade Pro wings. Assembling the wings was pretty easy. I have a bike rack that helps, but it's not necessary. The geometry of my Roubaix placed the front fender very close to the body and I actually had to shave off some excess plastic on the fender (the plastic covering for the metal that holds the fender to the front fork) to get the fender to fit properly. It might sound complicated but it was easy and I only had to remove some plastic to get clearance. I don't rub tires at all. The only issue I have is with the front fender, but I think it's related to the geometry of my bike, but when I try to stop at a traffic light, I can kick the fender with my foot. After a few weeks with the wings I got used to it and no longer have any problems, but I had to deal with it. Once installed, the wings are fairly easy to remove and reinstall. I trimmed some excess rubber from the fenders when they were installed to make them more aerodynamic (aero wings are the best). Aside from the front fender issues, there were no rear fender issues or adjustments needed for my driving style. For all that is good and valuable in this world, please take this and at least put on a rear fender. Do it for your fellow cyclists, those dorks, those weary friends, and those humble commuters just trying to get home a little faster. And if that's not enough to put on at least a rear fender, do it for your back, do it for your pants, tank top, and backpack (if you have one).
