I bought this in March 2017 (now December 2020) and have been using it regularly at work ever since. I bought it because my colleague had one too and she loves it. I can say that neither I nor my colleague, who has had it for much longer and uses it constantly, have not had such problems. However, I can confidently say that the mug is well made and has more than enough thickness, which you can tell by looking down and by the weight. would drop it wisely and I've never had a problem with particles from the brewer getting into the tea itself. Even if I overfilled it, the brewer covers the top well enough to prevent any of the brewer from getting into the tea. The mug is also excellent and easy to care for and has no problems with stains or discoloration. The only downside is that the screen can be a bit difficult to clean, especially if you don't clean it hard enough. However, rubbing the cup a little with your fingers while inverting it underwater can remove even the most stubborn solids. Overall I am very happy with this mug. It has been providing me and my colleague with impeccable service for many years and everything makes a well-made and durable impression. I definitely recommend it to everyone which is why I'm here to buy it for my dad.
