Love, Hate Relationships

I made some photo books and some calendars with cinch. If it's good, it's very good; but when it's bad. The biggest problem I've encountered is misalignment and misalignment. I couldn't figure out why I was getting misaligned holes on the long side of the 8-1/2" x 11" paper. Then I realized that a slide that doesn't come out when you start hitting that length isn't fully penetrating. It turned out that some of the perforated pieces of paper ended up getting stuck and causing slight misalignment. Similarly, I had trouble pushing the paper all the way through and found scraps of paper caught on the trailing edge and prevented the paper from entering the punch mechanism as far as it should. This happened even if the container with the punched bits was not too full. Because of this, I recommend keeping a good stack of recycled paper on hand and checking regularly, as this issue has consumed me a lot of expensive paper. A straightened paper clip is useful for "pulling" Cinch. Tips I've learned in the short time I've been using Cinch: 1. Trust the guide on the left and make sure the paper is level and is parallel to it.2. Make sure the paper is pushed all the way to the back of the punch and visually check if you have any doubts.3. Closing wires takes practice. I found it useful to have some sort of support under the sides when shorting the wires. A book of the right depth will do. I read someone else's advice to first short the wire to the recommended diameter and then re-punch through with a slightly smaller diameter setting. However, I've resorted to additional finger closure on occasion, and I still don't always get perfectly rounded wires.4. To avoid wasting ink and paper, punch holes in the pages before printing, if possible. Don't punch too many sheets at once and be extra careful with thicker paper.6. Carefully follow the instructions that came with your RCA and watch the online video if needed. Despite these issues I have no regrets about buying the RCA and I think with practice and what I've learned so far it will be easier to use. I don't like this, but there are not many suitable alternatives
