Review on 🎨 Derwent Tinted Charcoal Pencils: 24 Count Metal Tin, 4mm Core - Premium Artist Grade by Kim Sanchez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Attention pastel artists.

Honestly you can't go wrong with most Derwent products, even if the prices can sometimes be a bit steep. Their tinted charcoal pencils are a godsend for the pastelist as the colors featured in their range are new and not found in the ordinary palette of pastels and pastels. That alone makes this set excellent, but these pencils also have good lightfastness, good dot retention, relatively soft application, and at least some ability to create nice blurring effects with water. Portrait and landscape pastel masters will find almost all of the muted and earthy colors in this set appealing. Derwent also makes a line very similar to their Tinted Charcoal which they call Tinted Graphite. It's also a great tool for working with dry materials.

Pros
  • Cedar Barrels contain the highest quality flexible charcoal for scratch-free markings
Cons
  • Crumpled
