My old BernzoMatic Pencil Torch lost space and I still had a large area to heat (on the axle tube) so I spent an extra $5 on this one jumbo model. The price difference is worth it. I also light my pellet stove with propane and this large burner cuts the ignition time by half or less. Although it appears to be a "bottle dryer", it uses more propane. than an old pencil burner. In response to other reviews, I was able to turn the propane flow down to low without noticing any further heat build-up, but maybe that's changing(?). Also, turning my burner off takes no more effort than any other burner I've had. but (from - according to other reviews) I made a great effort to stop turning once the flame died out and not over tightening / damaging the valve internals. I take the burner out of the bottle when not in use and try not to start it upside down, recommended!
