Review on Brightwell Aquatics ABABCM250 Borochrom Conditioners by Leah Gomez

My first work with coralline algae

I have been maintaining marine aquariums for 40 years and after starting a new aquarium I decided to do invertebrates and coralline algae. One reason was the reduction in green algae cleaning. I bought a packet of live Corralline seaweed and added this boron supplement more or less as directed. I set the temperature to >78 and the pH to 8. Then I added the seaweed and let it settle. I started adding borate and other coralline algae activators as instructed. I haven't figured out how to look for boron, so I'm using the seaweed paint to see if I'm moving in the right direction. it's slow Also, I increased the boron dose by 1 or 2 ml per day to the predicted amount. Boron enhances the red color and seems to be absorbed by something because I have to add it once or twice a week to keep the color. Unlike previous tanks I've had, there is almost no green algae on the windows (I treated the front with rainX silicone before filling the tank), although the surface of all the windows look like they have something attached to them. As a result, I wiped the windows twice in 4 months. Also, there is almost no algae on the crushed coral bottom. I have some hermit crabs and some snails to help out, so can't be sure, but it's better than a weekly front panel clean. Corals/shells have varying amounts of green and red; Red seems to like some (empty) shells and rough surfaces on some (dead) coral. At 6 months I'd say it's working.
