Review on Enhanced Performance Carbon Monoxide Detector by Kidde with Battery Backup, Digital Display, LED Lights, and CO Alarm by Christian Young

The best return on our money.

Second one I've bought for the house. I have five different devices in the house, some use batteries, some are plug-in models. All of these devices are not the best. They work based on two factors: the concentration of carbon monoxide and the length of time at that concentration. Two units sounded simultaneously. They had different numbers, but they were in the same room. Trace the problem to a water heater with a dirty flame. The problem will be resolved and the alarms will be silenced. I read the specs that came with the alarm and was surprised by their variability. Also, one of my old devices broke down and drained its batteries every 5 weeks. Do your family a favor and keep more of these around the house. I have one in the furnace room, two upstairs, one in the basement and a float that moves. Why I like him the most. It will tell you if there is a peak even at 11ppm. Most units don't. It is important to check the peak level from time to time. The digital indicator also tells you how serious the situation is. I had 350 when the water heater went insane. That means ALL windows open. In addition, models with rechargeable batteries offer you more flexibility when choosing the installation location. Most of my models with outlets are in awkward places. I avoided the battery model for 10 years because it might make me forget about this alarm and you should check or test it (with the button) from time to time. For price, features, and reliability, this is the best choice.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Good but not great
