The gray color and finish of this contact paper was spot on for the outside of the metal cabinet I was covering and a great match for another piece of furniture in the room. (I covered the drawers in a different paper that worked just fine.) But everything else about this gray paper was unsatisfactory, especially for the price I paid. It was very difficult to smooth. I spent hours trying different techniques but none of them worked. So many creases and cracks. Even small bubbles just popped back up after smoothing them over and over. And because it's a solid, flat color, you can see every one of them. It also does not stick very well, like when I tried to finish edges and corners. I had to use duct tape to keep edges from popping back up. So disappointing! I'm going to have to take all the gray paper off and find something better. Now that I look at some of the pictures I took along the way, I notice that it was all bubbled on the backing paper -- like it had lots of air pockets. That must be a bad sign. Now I'll be on the lookout next time. Costly lesson, though!
