Does the job. I've juiced grapes, apples, pears, etc. Additional pieces of wood can be crafted at any scrap lumber warehouse, here I used 1x3 which cost $2.50 for 8 feet. So a total of probably 25 cents extra spent. The manual says not to use whistles or anything like that, which of course I did. Nothing has broken. The only downside is that the diameter is slightly smaller than a 5 gallon bucket, so you can't easily turn a bucket of mashed apples or grapes upside down, and even if you do it carefully, it can get pretty messy at times.
