I have an aggressive Australian Cattle Dog (he gets along well with his roommates but not with other dogs of which he is brutal attacked a dog when he was about 1 year old) which made walking him the worst part of my day, especially in an area full of dogs. I've tried several collars, harnesses, padded leashes, even the Cesar Millan Pack Leader collar (I've even used collars and harnesses with two separate leashes at the same time, in case he came out of one, I had a spare) - nothing worked, he could always slip out of them (even out of the seat belt, still not sure how he did that) or they didn't phase him one iota. The pack leader's collar didn't seem secure enough to me, and the sliding collar (actually just a choke rope hidden behind the rest of the collar) didn't keep him upright. I didn't want a chain to choke or pinch - it's already aggressive. The last thing I want is for people to see the metal chain around his neck to make him look even worse. So I did my research and kept coming across martingale collars. I chose If It Barks based on reviews and the fact that it is wider (1.5" vs 3/8" or 1") which I felt would be a little softer on my dog's throat. After the first walk I was completely amazed. I'm not afraid of him breaking out of this collar and although he still gets very annoyed when he passes another dog barking at him, the width of this collar protects his neck and everyone else including other dogs from it Damage. Just the other day we were out for a walk and a black lab came out of nowhere (off the leash) right at my dog and even though he tried to lunge and get to the lab he was going nowhere and couldn't get out of that collar (I had Luckily, the labrador wasn't aggressive at all and just stood still). On another walk a neighbor was walking his furry dog on a leash and she started barking and yelping, my dog tried again to get at this dog but no no chance. This collar saves the life of my dog and other dogs.
