Purchased for Hurricane Irma that hit Florida in September 2017. I knew we were going to lose power so I went ahead and got this inverter. I took out my 2006 Volkswagen GTI car battery and hooked it up in parallel with my 2017 fiancee Honda Accord car battery "which has a remote start" so I connected everything together and ran a power extension to my house. So those were the steps I took: leaving the hood of the car open, the windows up and the air conditioning off, using the car remote I turned the engine on from 8:00 to 11:00, then I turned it off and again return . from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Before bed "around 10pm I unplugged the fridge" as we didn't open it at night it was still cold the next morning", we just left the fan and 2 lights on until morning and the whole process is repeated.AWESOME, in short, this thing could hold a large Kenmore fridge with freezer on top, 4 lights, cellphone charger, 2 walkie-talkie chargers (all cell towers were off), 1 small 32" TV, 1 standing fan and mine Power xbox one at a time time we had no power for 1 week so when we needed to cook i just unplugged the fridge for a few minutes while we cooked in the oven and on the small stove and when we when we were done cooking we just plugged the fridge back in. This inverter was in the car all the time and never got hot, even with the windows open and the A/C off, it has 2 little fans keeping everything under control and just for reference, the car only has about 1/4 of it consuming power. a gas bottle which is about $12 for premium gas and we had a week of power, frozen food, cooked food, entertainment and socializing, I would recommend this power inverter to anyone!
