Review on Bridgestone Blizzak Spike-02 185/60 R15 84T winter by Jnis Griis ᠌

The quality doesn`t fit my expectations, I won`t buy it again.

175/70R13. Bought to replace Gislaved, which was long overdue for retirement. From the very first meters, it became clear that this rubber is many times noisier - starting from 20 km / h, a rumble appears (not the noise of spikes, but a rumble), which intensifies as it accelerates. At 80 km / h, the rumble is like in a bomber from the Second World War. Turn on a documentary about the Great Patriotic War, find the moment where the bombers are flying - just such a rumble from this rubber) Quieter gets closer to 120 km / h. From personal experience, I can compare with Amtel and Gislaved spikes - compared to this one, they are absolutely silent. I hoped that the tires would break in and the noise would pass, but at the end of the season nothing had changed. Before buying, I heard positive reviews about this model, but in a larger size - there may be a problem with the R13 The rubber is tough, holds the road well on dry and wet pavement, especially in warm weather, oddly enough. In ice it slows down quite well. In those rare days when winter remembered that it was winter, I realized that driving in the snow had become quite unpredictable. Gislaved, even in the absence of most of the spikes and worn tread, held the road more confidently. Thanks to quarantine, I changed my shoes for summer in June and was surprised to see that all the spikes were in place - after all, the winter was warm and winter tires were not particularly intended for use in summer, there were several emergency braking and slippage. Although the mileage is small - about 5000, so it's too early to judge reliability In my opinion, the rumble negates all the few pluses of this rubber. Even with a good Shumkov, you should not hope that it will completely save. The price is not the highest, there were no high expectations, but the rubber did not live up to those expectations.

Pros
  • After soft rubber, handling is noticeably better due to stiffness Good brakes on small ice, dry/wet asphalt After the first winter, all the spikes are in place
Cons
  • Rumble - makes noise many times stronger than any spike from those that I used When driving in the snow behaves quite unpredictably Price quality
