Malfunction of the thermometer. Lemon fluke or bad thermometer?

I've had the product for 2 weeks, I've used it 6 times and 3 of those times it didn't keep the right temperature. First I cooked the chicken at 140 degrees, and she cooked it at 179 degrees. The second time I cooked burger patties at 129 degrees, the temperature rose to 139 degrees before I turned it off. I may have discovered the problem while watching him cook ribs at 145 degrees when I suddenly saw the thermostat read 103 degrees which could explain why the heating element turned on when the water was already 145 degrees. When it worked, my ThermoPro thermometers measured the water temperature 1 degree higher than the built-in thermometer. For the price, I expected its main function to last for years. So now I'm trying to decide to return it and try something else or exchange for another hoping I just got a lemon. On the other hand, it looks durable. There are no clamping problems. Administration was easy. Wi-Fi took some time to set up and get used to, but after that it was simple and straightforward, with only basic functions (set temperature, set time, turn on/off). The application could use many improvements. I love the recipe collection and look forward to trying some of them. However, the app could use more alarm functions, e.g. an alert when the temperature is above +5 degrees of the set temperature, or an alert when a set time remains, or maybe even a snooze function when it's still set time.

Pros
  • Fits many
Cons
  • Something is wrong
