Purchased to prevent accidental pushing or poking through the housing which could happen. The box itself is covered in very nice thick paint and comes with screws and two plastic plugs. There are holes for wires; top bottom and center back. Socket mounting holes vary to accompany many types of different sets. Pay attention to the depth of the drawer as some containers may be too deep. I like the general build quality and would buy it again. The only complaint would be extreme and it would be the plugs with a possible watertight seal. Otherwise it's perfect for my intention of using an external socket for a welder.
