Review on ๐Ÿ”ค Logitech SLIM FOLIO PRO Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard Case for iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd and 4th gen) - Graphite: Ultimate Typing Solution for iPad Pro by Kholar Irvine

Mixed feelings about this Slim Folio

I had a previous version of this case and it was literally perfect. In this version, designed for the newer iPad Pro, the backlit keys are unevenly lit - a little annoying having seen a better product - and occasionally flicker for some reason. A lot of light penetrates under the arrow keys, they seem to be placed too high. The keyboard action is nice and crisp. At first the magnetic clasp didn't seem to hold very well in display mode, but after a week it became so tight that it took me two hands to undo it. The Slim Folio Pro also has fewer angle options, and I'm VERY disappointed that there's no indicator to show if your caps lock is on. Also remember that if you use it as much as I do - 4 or more hours a day, you need to charge your iPad at least once a week. A three-month estimate is absurd for regular use. Pros: I like how well the corners of the iPad are protected in case it falls, and the added security of the flip cover can't be underestimated. (I suddenly had a case open in other cases and almost dropped it). These two features are a huge improvement over the many cases I've tried. Storing an Apple Pencil in this flap is very convenient and the best solution I've seen. (Note that the pen will not charge in this position). I also like the fact that it has a bunch of useful F-keys that the Apple Magic Keyboard doesn't have. I've been using it for about a month now, and unlike the Apple Magic KB, the keys haven't lost their sensitivity when touched at the extreme points - the main reason I've given up the Apple keyboard. The Slim Folio also has a pretty comfortable angle when I'm using it. in my lap, but the alternate, more vertical angle is hard to see. You should grab the back of the brace and pull it toward you to lock it in a more upright position. Main Cons: NO instructions, no explanation on how to use the F-keys - I deducted a star for ease of use. because of this. You can find them online if you search, but nothing is included. No visual indication that Caps Lock is on. Doesn't charge automatically via the Smart Connector while in use, which is the main advantage of the Apple Magic Keyboard. A nice plus is that it uses the same USC-C connector as the iPad Pro, so they can at least share one charger. A full charge lasts for around 36 hours of continuous use - this is just an estimate based on my experience and for my usage level it's around a week. Overall, it might not be as "gimmicky" as the Apple Magic Keyboard, but in terms of performance, the keyboard action was much more consistent and reliable. This can change after a few months of use, as can the Apple keyboard, and I'll update this review if that happens.
