Review on 📃 The Neat Company NeatConnect Scanner and Digital Filing System: Efficient Home Office Edition (Model: 2005434) by Josh Cooper

About 5 years ago I decided to give up paper and chose Neat Desktop. The scanner was fast and versatile, but the software was very cumbersome. Some time ago they tried to move away from computer software and to the cloud and at that point their platform started to get worse and worse. I've been an avid Evernote user for years and save a lot to Dropbox. So when I saw that the NeatConnect scanner could scan directly to both of these services, I decided to buy it. I've had the scanner for a year now and still can't connect it to Dropbox. I asked them for help several times and in the end they told me it wouldn't connect to Dropbox but they are working on it. About 2 months ago, NeatConnect stopped scanning to Evernote. I had to remove and reinstall my Evernote account from the scanner to get it working again. This worked for a few weeks, but it stopped interacting with Evernote again, and no matter what I do, I can't get it to reconnect. If you want to buy this scanner because it can scan to Evernote and/or Dropbox (or even OneNote, apparently according to Neat's own website), DO NOT waste your money. This is a constant problem with this scanner and there is no end in sight.
