📃 The Neat Company NeatConnect Scanner and Digital Filing System: Efficient Home Office Edition (Model: 2005434) Review

Excellent product works well in most cases and very quickly. Cloud service is decent. But after a long sleep it seems to crash/freeze/turn off, then I have to unplug and plug it back in.

I'd love to hear feedback. I read them all and then decided to try it myself. It's just like everyone else has said. This thing ate my receipts, ripped them up. And you cannot use it without the software. Attempting to bypass the software is a nuisance and renders the supposed simplicity and use of this device utterly pointless. have a backup when using my current NeatConnect. I look forward to another 2-3 years with my current ones - they are well made and I LOVE the cloud integration - I don't even plug my NeatConnect into my home computer, I scan them straight to the cloud and then upload receipts and documents go back to my home computer - an instant backup of everything is taken!

About 5 years ago I decided to give up paper and chose Neat Desktop. The scanner was fast and versatile, but the software was very cumbersome. Some time ago they tried to move away from computer software and to the cloud and at that point their platform started to get worse and worse. I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews. Yes, Neat offers a cloud scanning service WHICH is NOT REQUIRED to use this scanner! We've been using it for a long time as a standalone scanner connected via Wi-Fi with just a Gmail account. Set up a regular personal IMAP email account as well. I bought my first NeatConnect in February 2017 and was excited to use it and I want to be clear: I think the software is great, but the hardware sucks. Within 3 attempts to scan letter size, the inner rollers began to pick up the paper on one side and jammed, causing the paper to crumple. I contacted Revain to report the issue and they offered to return the scanner and replace it with a different one, suggesting it was a mechanical issue with that particular scanner. There have been many negative reviews about previous versions of the Neat scanner. I looked at one a few years ago and decided not to buy it. I'm very glad I waited. New very good product. I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's worked great. I'm still looking into the machine and I'm sure there are features I haven't found yet, but I'm very happy with the purchase.
