Review on 📃 The Neat Company NeatConnect Scanner and Digital Filing System: Efficient Home Office Edition (Model: 2005434) by George Mack

I bought my first NeatConnect in February 2017 and was excited to use it and I want to be clear: I think the software is great, but the hardware sucks. Within 3 attempts to scan letter size, the inner rollers began to pick up the paper on one side and jammed, causing the paper to crumple. I contacted Revain to report the issue and they offered to return the scanner and replace it with a different one, suggesting it was a mechanical issue with that particular scanner. I ordered a new one and within the first 5 or so scans it started doing the same thing. I contacted Neat and was instructed to open the lid and see if anything was interfering with the reels. There was nothing so I closed the lid and this action seems to have solved the problem for about 5-7 scans. I have concluded that it is a hardware issue as two separate scanners did the same thing. It appears that NeatConnect's roll layout was primarily designed for small, flimsy restaurant receipts and business cards. Unfortunately I didn't get this back right away and missed the 30 day window with Revain so re-scanning and opening/closing the lid I'm stuck every 5 scans or so. It's annoying, but I need to get some of my money from the department. I wish I had spent the extra money and bought a Fujitsu scanner. I understand this is an amazing device with great software. THEN, to make matters worse, I was locked out of the software after 90 days and had to contact Neat to reactivate my PIN. ATTENTION! You cannot use the scanner without the software. DO NOT believe them when they say you can. In fact, this becomes a very expensive paperweight. I would NOT recommend this product.
