Fit for intended use (NOT for cutting fabric)

**Please Note: Pattern swatches are used to cut notches in PAPER SAMPLES to allow you to cut slits in fabric when sewing to help align seams. They are NOT designed for use on fabric. **TL/DR: It works great on oak labels and thicker paper (which it's for), not so well on printing stock or butcher paper (unless you score two layers). ) and will not work on tissue paper (such as where home sewing patterns are printed). The one I have is slightly offset so it doesn't make perfectly sharp cuts, but that's fine. It works great on thicker paper like oak label or multiple layers of print paper or butcher paper, but it doesn't work well on single layers of print paper and will only shred tissue paper unless you put two layers of print paper behind it. . The quality is ok for the price. You can buy better ones, but they cost more. If you're looking at this as an investment I would recommend buying something better. If you just want a pure utility die-cutting machine, that's fine. I wanted to make sure people using it to cut notches on tissue paper for home sewing know it's intended for cutting patterns on thick paper (oak label). , which looks like manila paper). I can use it to cut fabric if I put two layers of printing paper underneath, but I still wouldn't recommend using it for fabric designs that you intend to use often as the cuts are deep and thin and I imagine they will do will get. caught on the fabric over time and tore. (On the other hand, if you plan to use the pattern multiple times, I'd recommend transferring it to thicker paper anyway [or ironing it onto freeze paper].) You CAN use this cut on fabric, but it's absolutely NOT intended use .termin (contrary to what some well-known home sewing "experts" on TV and YouTube sadly told their viewers). If you intend to use it for that, don't expect it to work unless you're using it on fabric that acts like thick paper (and even then I don't expect it to work well).
