Works perfectly, smells like chemicals and death

Both the box and the heater itself smell so strongly of chemicals that I'm convinced my entire family has cancer after spending two days regularly in the worked in the same room. We originally bought this for our daughter's nursery, but I would never leave this rotten death box in a child's room. My husband used it in his office in our basement and the whole house was full of smells. It was stuck to his clothes and beard as he left the room. We hoped the smell would go away after a few days of work. Instead, he burned our noses.
