This is my 13 year old daughter Surface RT in the last 8 months. She dropped her first one, bought with her own money, just after Christmas, getting in the car. Even though it was in a briefcase, the screen cracked horribly when it hit the driveway and the repair/insurance is so expensive you might as well replace it. The new Surface RT stays in the briefcase, but now we carry it in a double-lined case with a handle to minimize the risk of damage from falls. We do not exclude this risk, but we have done our best to minimize possible damage. She loves Surface and uses it every day. The Surface RT offers a lot of value to the consumer considering what it comes with and the price it's sold at. It won't make everyone happy, but it's perfect for what my daughter uses it for.
