The old one has a very pleasant sound and is very durable

It has such a weak sound. I can not believe that. I spent โ‚ฌ50 on it and expected a lot more. We bought a Sony Boombox 13 years ago and the difference is amazing. The old one has a very pleasant sound and is very durable. It's heavy and has survived several moves and four children. As a result, it has a few dents, but is still stable. But this new one is so small and light that I think it might break if I breathe on it. I bought it to replace our old one as the old one seemed to be broken. Turns out the power cord just fell off. That way I could compare the sounds of both. This novelty has such a weak sound. You may hear a constant "hum" under the audio. Then the music sound is just small and bad. Turning up the volume doesn't help the sound; Rather, it just produces a loud bad sound. Turning "Megabass" on or off doesn't help either. At first I thought I was imagining it because I was really looking forward to this stereo and expected it to sound as good as the old one. So I tried different CDs to make sure I wasn't overly critical. Then I put the same discs in the old one, and what's the difference. It has such a clear, loud sound! It doesn't matter if you turn the volume up or down, turn the "megabass" on or off, it's a very good sound. I will be returning this new device immediately for a refund. I can't believe how crappy things are these days. For $50 Sony can make a decent CD player. Just unbelievable. We will keep the old boombox and just buy a new power cord for it.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled
