I chose this product for its modern combination of glass and stainless steel. I didn't want to spend a fortune (less than $200) as I'm slowly remodeling my 1971 kitchen since I can't afford $55,000 at a time. This vent is sleek, quiet, and has a very modern look, although it looks like it would work in more traditional/transitional settings as well. I plan to remove the upper cabinets and leave the bare tiled walls with shelves. It was just installed and took the contractor about 2.5 hours to complete (the old cabinets were more of a challenge than installing the vent itself). The controls are on the front and there is very little noise. I am happy with this purchase and feel that once completed it will complement the transitional image of the kitchen. Apologies for the look of the old cabinets but over time they will be removed.
