Review on Profile 🚴 Designs Bar End Brief by Omar Svagera

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good quality and very light

I bought these to use as a different hand position and for better aerodynamics on my long travel/touring flat MTB handlebars/gravel bike. I've just completed 120km (74 miles) and they really helped improve aerodynamics in open areas and reduce hand fatigue. I installed them inside the handlebars instead of outside like aero bars (see picture). To do this, unfortunately, I had to remove the grips, brake levers and shifter, but I didn't want to install them on the ends because I think it's not safe (could get stuck) and they don't give me the best aerodynamics Good Quality: - High quality ones Fit and finish (great with my matte black grip) - Very light weight - Easy to adjust to different angles Remove grips, brake levers and shifters if you want to install them in the grips. I would pay more to be able to easily remove them and reinstall if needed. The diameter of the ends of the rods themselves is about 24.5mm. It's too thin to hold comfortably for long periods of time, so you'll need to attach handles or tape to it. However, because the diameter differs from most handlebar diameters (22.2mm), the grips do not easily fit (TBC), so the only viable solution seems to be a road bike style bar tape, which just doesn't fit. Fit IMO flat handlebar bike. So. It would be nice if they were either the same diameter as a standard handlebar so you can use the overlay rubber grips on them, or thicker so they're easier to hold on to.
