To upgrade from my previous LinkSys WRT-160, I decided to purchase it around a month ago. He labored conscientiously for ten years, but when the power went out, he started hanging himself. Requirements: wired and wireless Internet access at Khrushchev's treshka, as well as port forwarding from the Internet to provide web-based access to the network attached storage (NAS). Without any instructions, I was able to connect and configure everything in a quarter of an hour. The user interface of the website is really straightforward and uncomplicated. The moment the new component was installed, the signal quality quickly improved to a satisfactory level. "Whistling" coming from a dozen different places at 2GHz and one at 5GHz can be heard in rooms adjacent to each other. However, this particular device was not affected by the congested 2GHz range in any way. LinkSys, however, was. Now, a TV set-top box that is attached to a NAS drive in this price range is able to read movies of DVD quality without skipping a beat. In the past, accomplishing this was impossible. I only have one of the 5GHz gadgets, which is a tablet. It doesn't matter where you go in the apartment, you can always find someone reading YouTube. In the beginning, the Ubuntu operating system on the laptop reported continuous wifi network failures. The issue was remedied by installing the most recent firmware update on the router. In general, I am pleased with the performance of this apparatus. The cost is affordable, there are few obvious drawbacks, and the new device offers a significant improvement in use compared to its predecessor.
