My everyday handbag was looking faded and dirty so I bought this to freshen it up. I bought a "tan" that I wouldn't call a tan. This is a fairly aggressive burnt umber variety. It says to test on a small spot, which I did, but the jar was open at the time, so I didn't think I could return it. Anyway I decided to live with it and think I can get used to the new color although in fact the bag didn't look the same as before. The color darkened slightly on drying as promised from the annoying orange color you see in the picture. I applied two thin coats (three on the worst part, the front flap) using the included sponge and a couple of cotton swabs to get into the cracks. This product will definitely stain any fabric, such as seams or pieces of fabric, so be careful. It can be wet washed. It's kinda weird, it's like liquid paint but it's dried flat on the surface so you can still see the paint grain in the skin. It dries quickly. I have not treated my skin with any conditioner before or after. I rubbed it hard with a cloth to see if there was any color transfer because I don't want my clothes to pick up color from the purse and none of the color came off. I really think the bag turned out well and I have one more I could polish but it's Aqua. I would have to change the color completely.
