At first it seemed to me that this heater is not bad, not great, but quite suitable. It warmed up and worked reasonably well, although the thermostat that controls it is nowhere near accurate. The unit sat on my desk in my home office (for three months), not as a heater for 24/7 use, but to add some warmth on a cold day. One day I noticed the cord getting almost hot during use, but the switch in my circuit didn't work, nor did the Belkin surge protector, signaling an overload. In short, there is a burn mark on the socket, it's not old, it's the right size and wiring. So, to be on the safe side, I checked the relatively new outlet, switch (in fact, just replaced it to be sure), removed the Belkin unit, and replaced it with a new one. Take it for granted, but I'm done with it.
