It is important to me to follow the order in which the devices are assembled. I use this type of quick release on all my attachments. I used to pay more for them but I needed another pair and they are over $2 less. They are basically the same and I believe they will work the same. with a few improvements. First, the factory assembly looks rushed. The injection moldings are fine, but assembly is manual and the main hinge screw in one of mine was too tight, preventing the auto-lock from working. I read a review where the same screw was too loose. This is easy to fix once you understand how the auto lock feature is supposed to work. Second, a ring attached to a 1/4-20 mounting screw swings freely under the bracket. It is not stored horizontally. If it hangs down, it will interfere with turning the device into the locked position. A pair of pliers easily solved this problem for me. The plate on my device doesn't need to be removed, but if it does, a screwdriver or coin will suffice. Overall I think it's good value for money. I saved about $5 on meager work.
