In combination with a polarizing filter, it gives simply amazing results. I think that 40D + Canon EF-S 10-22 is quite a worthy budget alternative to 5D mark II + Canon EF 16-35. 95% of mere mortals will never distinguish photos taken at 40D + 10-22 from photos taken at 5D + 16-35, but the difference is 70 thousand (!). It makes sense to pay such money for such a difference only when you earn money from photography. And so. With focus almost never makes mistakes even in the dark. This lens does not need a lens hood in principle - not at all. But the Polaris is definitely needed - with him he just "sings". In general, among the "widths" for cropped cameras - it's better not to find. I use it as a staff member. Very happy with the purchase, definitely worth the money. Happy photos!
