This is a unique air purifier. It's very quiet, so you'll probably forget it's there. It mainly burns bacteria and dust mites. This technology is new to me so I went to the website and looked at the science tests. There are a number of PDFs available from various sources that present test results or certifications. One from EMSL shows results for bacteria and fungi and the other from Insect R&D shows results against dust mites. I was very impressed. So what are the downsides? First, it generates heat, and while the device doesn't get too hot, it heats up and warms everything around it. You don't want to put it next to your houseplant or drinks drawer. In addition, it only cleans the incoming air. Doesn't clean surfaces, so don't expect miracles. It only cleans one room, and the manufacturer recommends keeping it in that room because once it's taken out, the air can become polluted back from its original source. There are instructions, but the device is quite easy to use. The light control switch is a tiny button that's a little hard to see and press. The manual is written for two different models and in several languages. The note on the box states that it should be kept in a well-ventilated place for the first five days, as some odor may be released during this time. Made in Portugal.
