high quality. This set is a bit more expensive but worth every penny. We originally bought a table and two chairs from Ikea for about $35 and one of the chairs broke after a month of use. Ikea set only had to be thrown away after a few months of use. It's been almost two years since we bought KidCraft for our son. It is still as we bought it. Very durable. Now my daughter uses it too. It is covered with many stickers but there is not a single scratch on it. Manufacturers may have used scratch resistant materials. The children eat at this table and paint with all the crayons, pens, markers, paints we have, but it is very easy to clean and the surface is still white and in the same condition as when we bought it. Highly recommended
