I wish I had known about this product a year ago. It works great in my 2009 VW Jetta which has an iPod interface in the center armrest. The factory iPod interface required you to control your iPod/iPhone through the car stereo's CD changer and was a nightmare to navigate. Now with this cable I can just put my car stereo in CD changer mode by double clicking the CD button and it will show the CD on track 1 of disc 6 giving me full control from my iPhone. It works great with all my apps including RDIO, Pandora and of course the native iPod app. The price is worth it as I even considered replacing the stereo so I can use my iPhone content in my car stereo. I just canceled my Sirius subscription in favor of using RDIO through my iPhone. Update 08/28/12: After a year the cable still works but it seems to have a short circuit which causes the music to go on and off until you start to jitter. the cable. It's gotten progressively worse over the past few months. I will buy another one as I have no solution other than Bluetooth. I tried a Griffin Bluetooth adapter that plugs into a cigarette lighter socket and you plug this Grom cable into it instead of your iPhone or other audio device. However, Bluetooth music sounded a bit tinny and didn't have the same quality as simply plugging a Grom cable into the car. I'm reducing my original 5 star rating to 4 because the cable is shorted. It looks like others posting reviews had the same issue. Still, I would recommend this cable as I don't have any other solution at the moment. The music turns on/off and the volume drops sharply. In the past month, the condition has steadily deteriorated. I'm now lowering my rating to 3 stars as I have to buy a third cable due to poor quality. Unfortunately, there aren't many alternatives to this cable, and the Bluetooth options I've tested (like the Belkin) don't offer very good sound quality.
