I have been using serrated lock washers to sharpen mower blades for about 4 years. I have used grinding wheels in the past but have found that flap wheels work much better and don't damage the metal as much. I have a large yard and I use four different mowers: a zero turn mower, a lawn mower and two self-propelled mowers. Different knives require different folding discs depending on their thickness. I can use these 80 grit discs for initial sharpening of all blades, I just need to go a little slower and lighter with thinner blades. An 80 grit wheel lasts at least 12 sharpenings before I change it. I finish lighter blades with a 120 grit wheel, but 80 grit wheel is a versatile wheel for a variety of purposes. This pack of 10 cubic zirconia discs will outperform comparable discs at local larger stores. highlighted.
