I'm a teacher and a few years ago in Prek class the teacher had a very solid set. The pieces were large and thick. and it was a bit of a hassle to put the letters in - you could lift the tiles when they were connected and they didn't fall apart easily and the letters didn't fall out. This was the most expensive set I found. and we are not satisfied at all. Can't move it without breaking it apart and punching out the letters. I thought this was the most expensive set, assuming it was comparable to the set I've had previous experience with - if this one is over $50 I can't imagine how awful the cheaper ones are - or this set is just a huge rip off
