Munchkin Easy-Close VS Auto-Close Security Gate

For those of you who are curious to know the difference between easy-close and auto-close gates, here is an overview. I own both gates and used them at the top of the stairs. I bought both for different reasons and each serves its purpose perfectly. I highly recommend both, but there are some differences between them that you may need to investigate before deciding on one that works for you. EASY-CLOSE GATE: - To OPEN the Easy-Close Gate, your thumb presses the top button and button. press other fingers - Very easy to open. My 5 year old can open the easy close gate so it's actually pretty 'easy'. - To CLOSE the gate, you must proceed in the same way as when opening it, otherwise the gate will spring open again. Even if you close it, it won't snap into the fully locked position unless you squeeze the handle and reinsert it. (If you have an older child who can open the gate, they must also close it behind them or it will just stay open.) This gate will stay wide open no matter what position you leave it in, which is great. if you wish (e.g. with the grandparents, if the children are not always there when you celebrate, etc.). Gates with automatic closing do not stay open. The weight, style and overall volume of both goals are the same. The tension set on top of the ladder works well. I was concerned that this isn't hardwired, especially at the top of the stairs, but the tension is strong and my husband and I can kick and pull the gate and it won't budge. The goal can also be supplied with fastening material if required. I used "KidCo Y-Spindles" for the top of the stair railing on one side and the wall on the other, and they work just as well under tension. :-To open an auto-closing gate, your thumb slides over the button at the top of the gate, and unlike soft-closing gates, you have to lift the entire door up and over the small plastic stop at the bottom of the gate to open it.- It's relatively easy to do and doesn't require a lot of strength and is more difficult to maneuver for children.- I can easily lift the gate with a child or a load of laundry in my arms at the top of the stairs with no problem (I'm only 5ft 0ft). - My 5 year old can move the knob, but he's not big or strong enough to do it by lifting the gate and probably won't be able to until he's bigger.) and small, it'll be a better/more permanent one Be choice for you as easy - Close the gate - There is no need to close this gate, it will close automatically behind you - When it closes it makes a loud bang but you can dodge it unless you slam it shut or stop right in front of them. Hits and quietly closes it yourself. Easy-close gates are much quieter on their own, but it can be if you're careful. The auto close feature is great for those of you who are concerned you might forget to close the gate behind you. Convenient 1 step to open and close the gate. - If you want the gate to stay open more permanently (e.g. house party, moving items between rooms multiple times, etc.) this may not be the gate for you. You need to support it somehow or tie it down with a rope so it doesn't close on its own. The voltage at the top of the ladder works well, and I'm paranoid about safety. On request also with fastening material. The weight, style and overall mass of both goals are the same.
