I'm using these bags because I make my own bread and like to retain that balance between a nice crust and freshness in the bread. The square bags are quite large. If I were making huge loaves of sourdough rounds, one of those might work fine. For "normal" bread (even an 8"-10" round), I end up folding the cloth under. The long bags are longer (by far) than any baguette I've ever seen. So, the same problem exists there: too much cloth that must be folded under. Both get a bit crazy to fold when half the loaf/baguette is gone. However, they serve the intended function. Be sure to fold the end with the drawstrings under as there is a hole left at the opening once the drawstrings have been pulled tightly.I wash these bags, turning them inside out, with my delicate laundry and hang them to dry. I think that could be rinsed immediately after use, but it seems safer to give them a complete washing. My plan is to sew my own cut to a size for the kinds of bread I make (the normal size), just as soon as I can get true linen fabric, which is what you really need. and what these bags have.
