Before ordering ANY motor for your fireplace, be sure to check the RPM of the old motor to make sure the flame is not spinning too slowly or too fast. It's 15-18 RPM and that's the ideal speed. As is the case with most, if not all, of these motors, they rotate either clockwise (cw) or counterclockwise (ccw). That means you can turn it on and your flame will go down instead of going up. No problem. Just turn it off and on again once or twice and it will change and fix itself.
