Review on Head Shoulders Haircare Shampoo Conditioner by Becky Smith

Testimonial from African American woman with flowing hair

I moved to a slightly different area for college and had dandruff for the first time in October. I think it's because the weather is a bit colder and I spend more time walking around campus. I tried rinsing with apple cider vinegar and it helped but the dandruff came back after about 4 days. After a while my hair got used to the apple cider vinegar so I had to try something new. Between classes and work, I didn't have time for the long process of washing my hair, rinsing with apple cider vinegar, deep conditioning, blow-drying, and ironing (I have loose hair) except on the weekends. I went to a local destination and decided to try this because it was cheap and on sale. I first used this product trying to see if I could use it as a shampoo and leave it longer as a conditioner. I kept using more and more shampoo because it didn't lather up like regular shampoo. My scalp felt very fresh afterwards and there was definitely a lasting cooling sensation, but it wasn't a good deep penetrating conditioner and I had to use my regular conditioner because it made my hair rough. However, he got rid of the scales. I tried again, putting the product in an applicator bottle, only to apply it to my scalp as a shampoo rather than a conditioner after scraping all the dandruff out of my hair. It definitely got rid of the scales even after I scraped it all away, but I could tell they were still there even after wasting my time. My hair was still a bit frizzy even after just using it as a shampoo. Overall, this product has helped reduce dandruff and I appreciate it. I've also used tea tree oil and black castor oil to help. I just want to try the shampoo and not the 2 in 1 and see if I have to try my best to soften it. Don't leave it on for too long.
