Let's start by saying this item is AWESOME! Why is my score low? Easy to assemble. It's very easy to assemble and even comes with a carrying case so you can store it unassembled in your car. Even though it takes a lot of time, putting a few pieces together is easy, but it takes quite a while since there are so many of them. Also, the included clips are very sharp at the ends. The first time I installed the end piece went straight through my thumb and got stuck there. There's nothing a quick sanding can't fix, but it would be nice if they were trimmed right out of the box. Let's start using it now. It takes a lot, and I mean a lot of practice, to use this thing without damaging the apples. Most of the ones I picked were damaged by the prongs on the top of the basket. A quick dollar fix would be for me to add these sliding rubber pieces that attach to the ends of the wire mesh baskets you find at most department stores. If the manufacturer of this product is reading this, I recommend adding them as they will keep hundreds of apples intact over the long run. I bought the 5.5" and would definitely love the 8" but I'm glad I can't spend the extra $10 on a bar that feels like it costs less than $1. So if you're an avid picker of apples, pears, etc. I highly recommend just forgoing the extra $10 and getting 8ft. You'll be surprised how much those extra inches add up to. In short, I definitely recommend this product, it's a must-have for any builder, but for the price, it definitely needs improvement in many areas.
