Review on ๐Ÿพ Van Ness CP77 Extra Large White Enclosed Sifting Cat Pan/Litter Box (225026): A Convenient Solution for Your Feline's Needs by Josefina Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great with Feline Pine for a large cat. (Extra Giant Size)

Finally a tray that fits Cat Pine well and is big enough for a king size kitten. He's only 12 pounds but long and tall. It didn't have enough clearance with most drawers, most of the time it ended up with its back hanging over the outside of the drawer and skipping it completely. (Puppy mats should be used around the litter box.) Not only is this crate big enough, but the tall sides hold the bottom up while she goes about her business (with or without the lid). The screen mesh openings are a bit large for some Feline Pine pellets - smaller broken pellets fall through the holes. This is normal, however, as any moisture that gets through the grate will be absorbed by them and turn into sawdust. For cat jaws, it would be a little better if the distance between the sieve and the pan was deeper - then the cat's scratching would help the sawdust fall to the ground. Anyway, sawdust and some grains seem to clog the grate; but it is easy to clean by lifting the strainer and giving it a good shake. Procedure for sieving using Feline Pine instead of clumping litter: 1) Collect the feces first. 2) Lift the screen at one end to make room, then stir the litter with a shovel. This will cause the sawdust to fall. 3) Pull out the lower bowl and slide the screen with the remaining pine pellets into this bowl. 4) You can use a shovel to pick up unused little granules that got in with the sawdust. Dispose of sawdust as usual. 5) Place the pallet at the bottom of the stack and add more pellets. Overall I am very happy with this box.
