Worked great for me!

My car has plenty of space between the spokes of the wheels so I can check the remaining brake pad life on the outer brake pads without having to remove the wheel with this tool and a flashlight. I suppose the internal pads (which I can't measure) may be different, but I've found that I don't get as many pad replacement recommendations if I can tell a service advisor that I just had them checked and they look like this. I have about 5mm left in the front and 7mm in the back. My mechanic checks them at every oil change (I've got 3750 miles) and my measurements largely agree with theirs.
