I REALLY got it working with an LGA 1200 socket!

I read the previous review with a bit of trepidation as I also recently bought an LGA 1200 board (ASRock H510M-HDV/M.2) and this fan. Sorry I don't have any pictures but this is how I did it: First I installed two pin mechanisms on the motherboard (in my case it was the bottom two) including the brown mounting pins and the black locking pins. Luckily, the black holster (which the fan will eventually attach to) flexes a bit, and I CAREFULLY tightened it a bit to match the holes individually. On my first try I only got three pins out of four and it seemed solid, but then one of the anchors (brown and black) broke off. So it was all or nothing and thankfully it was over for me. You just have to find that sweet spot. I should note: the bracket and anchor pins go in the 'middle' slot (like LGA 1150 etc) and it's better to 'prefer' the silver screws in the fan bracket as there isn't much room to insert She. I managed, but once I packed my things back up, I followed the advice above and everything went better. Additional Info: This is a Rosewill FBM-01 microATX case with the above ASRock H510M-HDV/M.2, 32GB Patriot Viper Steel RAM, i3-10100f, Crucial MX 500 500GB SSD, Gigabyte GP-450B power supply. , an Arctic Freezer 13 CPU fan (of course!) and an MSI VENTUS XS 6GB OC GTX 1660 that I bought for a RETAIL price (e.g. $240) last year before this whole graphics card dropped in price is (this is the only component used ) ) . My goal was to keep the build under $500 (not counting graphics card) and I managed it, including finding an inexpensive downloadable version of W10. The fan works great and is very quiet as expected! Good luck with *your* build!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad but...
