I used this on a hood on a mini excavator that had a broken latch. It does not come with a mounting mechanism, but for use in a wide variety of applications, be prepared to purchase various sizes of bolts and locknuts for installation. It works perfectly and exactly what I expected! Would recommend it to anyone for almost any application!
