I have to admit that I don't use a potato peeler very much for most vegetables because we eat organic and not only is the skin healthy, it's very healthy right under the skin. So I wash my veggies really well! When I make candied yams for the holidays, yes, I do peel yams. I have a sweet potato at home so I tried it. wow i feel better And there is a loop on the side to pull the eyes out of a white potato. Just works. I used this chocolate chip knife, worked great. I've used it for hard cheeses, another plus. Rootstock/stem broccoli is more heather than crown and my daughter prefers it raw. I used this to scrape off the tough fibrous stalk, did a great job. If you want to peel an apple, this was easy. Before using this there is a blue plastic strip covering the sharp blade, remove it. Children going into the kitchen, be careful, this blade is very sharp. It feels good in hand and easy to use, but is a bit different from regular cleaning knives. This will clear your skin, be careful.
